Situations Where Combination Cosmetic Surgery Procedures is Frequently Practiced

Patients who seek to undergo multiple Cosmetic surgery procedures in one surgical session may have to shuffle their priorities and concerns so that safety is on top of their lists. It should be common knowledge that combination cosmetic surgery, a term used for multiple surgical procedures, is specifically performed on selected candidates who are healthy and without major health issues.

There is possibility that patients may want to make the most of their time, leading them to want to take full advantage of the number of surgical procedures in one session, but it is important that the body is initially examined before patients undergo surgeries to prevent risk of complications.

Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

The following are the three examples where combination cosmetic surgery is frequently practiced:

1. After pregnancy or childbirth, a combination of breast augmentation and/or lift (mastopexy), tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and labiaplasty may be deemed necessary for patients.

During pregnancy, mums may feel that their breasts have increased in size. After pregnancy, however, where mums move to the task of breastfeeding, the breasts will lose volume and may sag. Breast augmentation, alone or combined with breast lift, is the typical procedure o restore the size and shape of breasts.

After pregnancy, mums also encounter loose abdominal skin. Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) is the usual procedure to make the muscles in the abdomen tight, removing excess skin and fat to restore an equally flat and toned tummy.

If mums give birth to their children naturally, there will be significant change in their lips, wherein their inner lips may increase in size. Mums who are uneasy at this usually choose to undergo the procedure called labiaplasty.

All three procedures are all done in combination cosmetic surgery. But others prefer a combination of two, breast lift and tummy tuck or labiaplasty and tummy tuck. For combined surgical procedures with tummy tuck, it usually takes 3 to 5 days in the hospital, while labiaplasty and breast lift can be done in one day.

2. When patients are faced with facial ageing, a combination cosmetic surgery may be done. The typical combination includes facelift, eyelid correction (blepharoplasty) and lasers.

In improving facial ageing, facelift is considered to be the most effective procedure, wherein the cheek folds, jowls and loose skin around the mouth are being corrected.

Eyelid correction is another procedure that patients undergo in a combination cosmetic surgery for correcting facial ageing. In this procedure, which is sometimes joined with a brow lift, loose skin in the eyelids that make patients look old and worn-out are being removed for a young-looking appearance.

The third and last procedure is lasers, which improve the colour as well as the consistency of the skin. All three cosmetic surgery procedures combined can be done in one day and may take 4 to 6 hours to complete.

3. After significant weight loss, several parts of the body tend to be affected, causing patients to have loose skin. Combination cosmetic surgery procedures for this situation may include breast lift, tummy tuck and lower body lift.

As a repeat, it is greatly important that selecting combination cosmetic surgery procedures must prioritise safety.
